Cherry 2000 (1987); dir. Steve de Jarnatt.
Have you watched Cherry 2000? I must have seen its ridiculous exploitationy cover on the shelves of a thousand video stores over the years, but it never appealed. It wasn’t until I saw Steve de Jarnatt’s delightful 80s cult apocalypse romcom Miracle Mile for the first time recently that I thought to seek out his other films—sadly, he seems to have made only two: Cherry 2000 and an awful-looking Rick Moranis comedy I will probably never seek out.
Anyway, here’s Cherry 2000 in its entirety. It’s my new favourite dystopian sex robot comedy ‘about’ the 80s terror of feminism!
